Five Hearts

Lowen Ashleigh is a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin when she accepts the job offer of a lifetime. Jeremy Crawford, husband of bestselling author Verity Crawford, has hired Lowen to complete the remaining books in a successful series his injured wife is unable to finish.

Lowen arrives at the Crawford home, ready to sort through years of Verity’s notes and outlines, hoping to find enough material to get her started. What Lowen doesn’t expect to uncover in the chaotic office is an unfinished autobiography Verity never intended for anyone to read. Page after page of bone-chilling admissions, including Verity’s recollection of what really happened the day her daughter died.

Lowen decides to keep the manuscript hidden from Jeremy, knowing its contents would devastate the already grieving father. But as Lowen’s feelings for Jeremy begin to intensify, she recognizes all the ways she could benefit if he were to read his wife’s words. After all, no matter how devoted Jeremy is to his injured wife, a truth this horrifying would make it impossible for him to continue to love her.

I’ve had this book hanging out in my to read collection on my kindle for ages. I feel bad for it hanging out there so long. I Finished this book and spoke out loud to myself.. ”OMFG!, What the actual f**k?’’

Shocked, Speechless & My head is messed up!! The beginning, the middle, and THE END!! All of it and every word. Just outstanding.

I finished this yesterday (Tuesday) in less than 9 hours completely distracting me from a high pain night and unable to sleep ( Thank You) On & Off as I was babysitting).

This book totally and utterly lives up to the hype and amazing reviews.

It is captivating, creepy, Utterly dark and shockingly addictive and I was on the edge of my seat feeling totally unsettled all throughout the book.

I love how it flipped back and forth between the chapters of the manuscript and being told by Lowen.

Lowen is struggling after the death of her mother who she has been caring for, for months and she is in debt, risking losing her apartment and using her last bit of money she received from her published books. When she receives a text message from her agent explaining she has a meeting with somebody, a time and a place. He is very vague about who she was meeting and why?.

After weeks of not being able to go out of her apartment, she finally gets out and heads to her meeting. But not, before she witnesses and ends up covered in another person’s blood from an accident. Then here comes Jeremy Crawford who helps her to a coffee shop to get cleaned up and literally hands her the shirt of his back.

And she meets Jeremy in her meeting and is offered to be a ghostwriter for his wife’s next two books in her best-selling thriller series. She can no longer carry on writing as she is paralyzed and it’s apparent she doesn’t have much brain activity. Only able to move her eyes. From an awful car accident which is just another terrible and cruel accident which happened to this family.

Lowen is invited to the Crawford’s house to sort and collect all of verity’s notes and plans etc to aid her in writing the books. While looking through verity’s office. Lowen comes across a manuscript of Verity Crawford’s Autobiography. She begins reading it and that’s where this hooking, disturbing thriller hits off.

I don’t want to write too much as I don’t want to give any hints about the rest of the book.

If you pick up one book this year, make it this one especially if you are a lover of thrillers and romantic suspense. It’s one of those books that everybody should read.

I truly and honestly hope that Colleen writes another thriller although, I don’t know how she will ever top this one.

I absolutely highly recommend this book and if I could rate this much higher than 5 hearts I would.

All opinions are my own. I bought this book.
