A brilliant, compelling, enthralling and interesting read.
Kat has always been told from a teenager she was suffering from ’Antisocial Personality Disorder’ or in other words, She is a sociopath.
She had an awful weird upbringing with a mother whom she hates. She was a troubled child/teenager with dark secrets.
When her only daughter, Grace goes missing and her body is found in a well known ’Suicide Spot’. She is told by detectives after a short investigation into her death that they believe she has indeed committed suicide and a suicide note was found with her body.
Kat doesn’t believe the detectives and that it was a suicide nor that the suicide note was written by her daughter. She believes someone murdered her and she starts on her own journey and investigation into her daughter’s death.
Which is just the beginning of this outstanding, throat-grabbing story? You feel like you were on the journey along with kat, you feel everything she feels and although you want to absolutely hate her, you can not. I love messed up imperfect characters and their journey to self-discovery.
I was utterly flabbergasted multiple times throughout with lots of unexpected Shocking twists and turns. Your emotions are constantly on a very twisted rollercoaster from beginning to end and long after you read the last words.
I have extra love for this book as it is set/based around where I live, Buxton. So I felt even more connected. Sarah did a fantastic job of describing and setting the scene and it’s unbelievable realistic.
This author will most definitely be on my to watch out for authors.
