The unexpected death of Rose’s beloved Aunt ends up being a driving force in her uneventful life. She gives up her lonely unfulfilled big city existence for the country home and life from cherished childhood memories. Can it live up to them? All she wants is to find her place in the world, finally find the happiness and independence she has been searching for and hopefully this move will do it… hopefully. With her little dog Muffin by her side and a much needed new friend in the form of Abby it does seem possible. That is until a not so ideal first encounter with the handsome local Laird of the Munro Estate sends her spiralling from young professional woman to hormonal bundle of goo. The chemistry undeniable but with him not seemingly on the market this might not be the place for her after all. Thrust into the world of not so quiet country living will Rose ever find true love? A roller coaster of emotions and a whole lot of country charm there’s one thing for sure Rose is certainly not going to be bored anymore!
Rose is living in London, England as a Children’s Book Illustrator. Her beloved aunt unfortunately died and left her beautiful old cottage to Rose.
Rose jumps at the chance for a fresh start away from the hustle and bustle of London to a small quaint town in Scotland where many of her favourite childhood memories were with her Aunt.
The first couple of weeks Rose worked tirelessly fixing the cottage up after, it had not been lived in for some time after her aunt found love and moved away.
The story begins when she quite literally crashed into Rob Munro, The Laird of the Manor. This is where the sparks comes lights up.
Rose is your typical normal girly girl with a vintage flair. I absolutely fell in love with Rose. She’s unique, funny, likable.
Rob appears to be your typical alpha rich boy. He comes across as arrogant Etc But deep down he’s a lovely guy and he grows and shows his true colours as the book goes on.
Abby She is quirky, moody, funny. She becomes Rose’s best friend and it’s a match made in heaven.
I loved how Leanne wove mental illness into the story. And although we really get to feel how that person feels etc. We also see the impact this can have on the people around you.
I absolutely love how much impact and depth goes into the characters. It is packed full of realistic characters and a real true romance that happens in the real world.
It’s is a loonnnggg book according to my kindle 12hours long. Obviously, it depends what on your reading speed. Although it took me a while to read this it wasn’t anything to do with the book but my stupid lack of concentration. But I actually loved that I read it slowly as I got to savour and enjoy all the characters, plot etc for longer.
Have you seen the cover… It’s absolutely beautiful and cute. And it 100% represents the book awesomely!!
