The third gripping instalment in the DI Paolo Sterling crime series.
Detective Inspector Paolo Sterling has just six weeks to solve a series of murders by insulin injection, with nothing to connect the victims except the manner of death and a note left at each crime scene.
The murderer, determined to avenge a wrong from many years earlier, gets close to his prey by assuming various identities.
Can Paolo win in his race against the pretender?
Wow, !! 😮 What can I can say about this book and the series so far, that I haven’t already said.
I am head over heels in love, with DI Sterling. Apart from being a remarkably good detective, he handles his home life just as good.
I loved how we started to see the bond him and his daughter had even more. And his love life, I am not saying much about this because it just needs reading and devouring. I love a good detective with an interesting personal life and backstory.
Although, the author says you can read each book in the series as a standalone. I would absolutely most definitely recommend reading them, as a series from book one.
You will get a deeper understanding of the background of the characters and other excellent well-written crime plots, etc.
And again, Mace hits us with an incredible plot. It grabs hold and doesn’t let you breathe nevermind let you go.
Some series, unfortunately, end up struggling, but this series with each book gets better and better. Mace isn’t afraid to explore the darkest ugliest of crimes nor the less ugly crimes. But she pulls them both off, equally well.
