Even in your hometown, you can feel like an outsider …
In the close-knit community of Carrenporth in Cornwall everyone knows everyone else’s business. Luke Carrack is only too aware of this. He’s been away for two years but nothing has changed – from the town gossips who can’t see past the scandal of his childhood, to the cold way he is treated by some of his so-called family. The only person who seems to understand is local hotelier’s daughter Cat Trevelyan, although even Luke’s new friendship with her could set tongues wagging. But Carrenporth is about to experience far bigger scandals than the return of Luke Carrack – and the secrets unearthed in the process will shake the sleepy seaside town to its core …
Firstly, I absolutely loved this book. It is SOOO much more than a simple romance novel. Set in the lovely Cornwall and hint of Italy 🇮🇹. I love a good romance but when it has murder, suspense, family drama, gossip girls, etc well, it’s a big massive hit in my book.
Cat Trevelyan and Luke Carrack start of really disliking each other; It soon turns into a wonderful friendship and finally blossoming into a beautiful relationship.
I fell in love with reading about Cat and Lukes story; I loved how realistic and utterly believable their storyline was.
Cat Trevelyan oh she is fabulous, independent, family-oriented, workaholic and stubborn. I love how the author also led us on a tale of Cat finding herself, discovering who she is.
Jo Lambert has an extraordinary writing style. Although this is a long book, Jo’s writing style, plot, characters make you want to read and not put it down. It is hard to keep readers engaged through-out a long book, but this was excellently crafted.
A good romance with hints of murder, suspense, family drama and gossip girls within a small-knit community, etc.
A realistic and utterly believable storyline. A chilling page-turner with plenty of trepidation and tension.
