Eight strangers… can any be trusted?
Grace’s life has been hard. After nursing her mother through a long battle against cancer, a battle she eventually lost, Grace has to get away. She’s sacrificed her early twenties and now has a hole in her life. All her friends have moved on, gone to university or off travelling, and Grace is struggling. A competition to win a hiking holiday catches her eye. It’s just what she needs—fresh air, a long way from London, and a chance to meet other people. She didn’t expect to win, but to her surprise, she finds herself whisked away to the Scottish Highlands, together with seven strangers. Each of those strangers seems to have a secret, and as an accident during their hike takes them to an unexplored location, those secrets start to unravel. Some of her fellow travellers end up hurt, or worse, leaving Grace wondering if one of the others is responsible. If so, will she be next?

This was such an amazing, fantastic epic end to the crime after crime series. Grace has been looking after her mother who had cancer for years and years, unfortunately, her mother’s cancer ends up finally winning and she dies. Grace is left not knowing what to do, where to go. She is totally grief-stricken and lost. She was scrolling through Facebook one day and spots a free hiking trip. She shares it because of how pretty the Scottish highlands look. To her utter surprise, she ends up winning the free hiking holiday. After much thought and impulse, she goes shopping for all the hiking equipment she needs. There is only one problem, she has NEVER gone hiking before and this hiking holiday is supposed to be for experienced hikers. Anyway, she ends up travelling all the way from London to Scotland after two trains and a minibus and arrives for her hiking holiday. She meets seven strangers and after staying one night at the hiking lodge off she’s goes hiking. This is where the exciting, beautiful, thrilling, intriguing, fucked-up and astonishing, frightening hiking trip begins. One person sprains their ankle not able to walk, phones go missing, they end up going a different route to get Nicola back to safety and medical help. And the other hikers keep disappearing and found dead along with other bodies. Who is the killer? Why? And What the fuck is going on? Honestly, this is such a gripping, psychologically mind fucking book with an immensely frightening and explosive ending. Although this could be read as a standalone, I personally would highly recommend reading book one and two. This is just a tremendous series from two remarkable and extraordinary authors working together.
