Michael’s worst fears are realized when his criminal past catches up to him. His daughter is kidnapped by his old gang, who are intent on getting back what Michael owes to them.
With the help of his estranged brother, Carl. They must find a way of coming up with the ransom within five days.
Michael’s journey will take him the whole way from Belfast to Dublin.
His old gang abducted Micheal’s daughter. He and his brother Carl go on a vast mission to get his daughter back.
I read this within two-three hours from beginning to end. At 198 pages, it is a shorter book that I especially love.
Micheal has a straightforward and fastidious nature.
Carl Micheal’s brother has a cautious, gentle personality, and he is all about the family dynamic and protective. They have previously estranged from each other. I think Carl was my favourite.
Both concurrently make for an absorbing duo.
This is an action-packed thriller, which has an interesting plot and subplots.
It takes place in Ireland. Belfast and Dublin are where it was based. The theme which was centred around gangs, drugs and violence. It wasn’t to violence, but it still dives into the dark world of criminal gangs.
Paul is excellent at world-building. He portrays Ireland’s deep criminal underworld while he also stirred me away from the bad to the good scenic Ireland which I would like to visit.
It was an excellent balance.
The only flaws I could find within this novel were a few spelling mistakes.
But this didn’t overall effect the ability of reading this book.
