It can happen to anyone... #MeToo

When Billie receives a letter from the man she loves, she returns home, determined to help him.

Desperate to prove his innocence, Stan is in prison, convicted of a crime he swears he didn’t commit.

Kelly, his victim, is struggling to cope after an ordeal that left her traumatised and lonely.

Whilst hiding a secret of her own and battling demons from her past, Billie is enlisted by the private detective who is looking for vital evidence that might set Stan free.

Billie has complete faith in Stan but when she hears Kelly’s version of events, cracks begin to appear and her faith wavers.

There are two sides to every story and Billie needs to get to the truth, but the deeper she digs, the more lies are unearthed.

Who will she believe?

And who is really telling the truth?

Inspired by true events; #MeToo is one of 2020's most remarkable psychological thrillers.

Patricia Dixon is also the author of the bestselling psychological thrillers The Secrets of Tenley House, Over My Shoulder and co-author of Liars. If you are a fan of authors like Lisa Jewell, B.A. Paris and Clare McGowen you will love #MeToo.

Characters

The way Dixon expertly crafted these characters are insane. You lived and breathed the characters and hung on there every single word and emotions.
Constantly believing and disbelieving all the characters throughout.

The characters were so authentic, so fundamentally genuine that you felt you were living inside their heads, you could see them as clear as day, you could hear their voices, feel every single conflicting feeling and emotion pouring out of the pages. You were exported into there lives which at the time was utterly fucking terrifying. The feelings were overwhelming, powerful, harrowing, dark and embark so many other conflicting and confounded emotions throughout. It was a sea of emotional waves that had your heart in your stomach without taking a breath throughout.

Writing Style/Pacing

Dixon has exceptionally excelled herself at crafting this absolutely drop-dead outstanding, harrowing, phenomenal, dark and terrifying story. You can tell how much went into this book, as it is a tremendously influential and potent piece of writing with extraordinary characters that come alive in every way. A story which will always stay with you for the rest of your life which is tackled in a flawless and delicate manner that isn't graphic but has the same effect if it was. Having to Imagine it instead of it being graphically documented is a much more effective way of relaying this story. No words will ever explain the impact this book has on anybody and how fucking unbelievably fantastic book with how it's been written.
